I love this place, everything but the prices. It's that $3.00 extra now per oysters, shrimps, and scallops that just bugs me. It kicks our ticket up into the stratosphere. And then to go home and eat on a paper plate. Hey, I know I have some ownership in this situation! I could get out some of our china plates and make the table pretty. Dinner for two was more than $50! It DESERVED china and silverware! I guess Mayflower will have to become a once-a-year extravagance for us. I still love everything about it except the prices. The slaw and tartar sauce are wonderful. The fried okra and the cocktail sauce are excellent. It's just the prices. For prices like this, you should have real butter. The servings are ample. I admit we eat more than two meals from it. And I'm just a whiner. Please forgive me, Mayflower. I just hate to give you up!!!

Mayflower was a common restaurant I visited growing up but haven't been in probably 8-10 years. Last time I went I remember being disappointed and underwhelmed. Today was different! There were 6 of us for Sunday lunch--which I know is crazy busy especially in a town without a lot of Sunday lunch options. We ordered onion rings to start. It was obvious that these were not fake frozen onion rings from a bag but instead were made from scratch. The ranch dressing for dipping was great too! One of us ordered the chicken special, it came with a salad and side. The salad was crisp, the side of okra was good. The chicken was incredibly juicy, tender, and fell off the bone. I had the senior shrimp plate with a sweet potato. I am not a senior but honestly glad I got it because I didn't even eat half. The plate was loaded down. The shrimp was well breaded, hot, and crispy. The sweet potato was huge and hot. My daughter got a sweet potato as well with her chicken tenders and it was also huge. The others at our table got catfish and flounder. There were no complaints about the food! The service was lacking, however. I understand Sundays are nuts but I had to ask each time I needed a refill of water, as did my husband for his soda. We also had to ask for butter and tartar sauce for our food.

When I visit Asheboro, I love to get Mayflowers. Take out is separated from the dine in area. As always, I took my food to go but this time a little different. I took the food home to High Point. I was impressed to find it still warm once I got home. I don't have any problem with it being cold knowing the time it took to travel from one city to another. I ordered my usual for takeout seafood, 3 combination with coleslaw and baked potato. Nothing spectacular about it, it's just good. Flaky trout, plump popcorn shrimp, crispy chicken tenders, all good and satisfying.

I had the flounder and it was delicious! They also have homemade cakes. We got a slice of carrot cake to go which was delicious! My husband loves their popcorn shrimp!

We came here for a birthday party and reserved the private back room. The prices are super fair. Friendly staff and service. The hush puppies are absolutely delicious! I ordered the flounder with a baked potato. The flounder portion was huge. I was only able to eat two of the three pieces.

I wanted to try a different place. So I was by myself and knew I would not have to argue with a soul on where to go.I chose Mayflower Seafood in Ashboro. Now Mayflower is located in the lower part of town heading towards Randleman.I get there at 7:50 finding out they close at 8:00.I was told to come on in I had time to get some food.I was quickly seated and my waitress took my drink order a food order.I chose a 3 way.Shrimp, oysters and a deviled crab.My plate came out quickly.I as hoping for a bowl of hush puppies like a few places do but I guess they don't without an order. My food was hot.I was not crazy about their cocktail sauce. But the tarter was spot on.My waitress never let my tea glass go empty.I did have to get a togo box for my leftovers. My dog sitting in the backseat approved the fries a few shrimp I gave her.My service was good.My food was okay.

It was my first time here I showed up at 3:20 pm and no one was here we came I side just at the right time I'm guessing. The food was amazing had great baby flounder and scallops and my wife had baby flounder as well both were super nice and feeling. The only downside was that the staff and waitress were not wearing which is not good and if there in your personal bubble they need to wear a mask.
